Stage Systems joined the Detroit Lakes Chamber of Commerce today! We are excited for our adventures with the Chamber and look forward to working with other local businesses in the future.
We got some new JBL products in that will help us provide services to even more clients in more versatile ways.
This adventure has been interesting. First of all, one doesn't realize how dependent you are on the appliances in your life. Something as simple as heating soup became a task. I think we managed very well, we had a few interruptions in our day that brought us to local restaurants for supper. If time were more available, I'm sure I would have been able to concoct better food choices. It's just so easy when you can pop in a premade casserole. Our food choices haven't been so very healthy this last month. I think this happens a lot with families. Time, money and events get in the way of a nice home cooked meal. Being replaced with a quick fast food drive through or a sit down meal away from home that has a serving size two or three times larger than what you would eat at home.
Maybe this is part of the health and weight issues we face as a society. We no longer value time with family, our home or sitting down at home to eat together. Some do, but many have after school activities, sports, music lessons, meetings and other socializing. This makes for quick meals. Made from a box with preservatives or a drive through. This past month has shown me quite a few things. How we eat, plan our meals, how busy we get, how busy others are and how they eat. It was interesting to say the least. I hope to pre-plan meals that can be made quickly so that we do not have to eat out unless it is for a treat. I may not be the best cook, as I really like to bake, but I am willing to take a shot at better options. And so the adventure continues just with a stove to work with! P.S. We are always open to ideas and suggestions! Day 24: We were getting ready for the Niijii arts and music celebration gala. We also had visitors so we agreed to have McDonalds for supper.
Day 25: The oven is here! You would think I'd be excited to use it and wondering what to make. Nope we had cheese burgers from the vendor at work. Sometimes even though you can't wait to use something you have to put priority in line and make yourself wait. Soon, very soon. In honor of it being the first day of fall, we had grilled cheese and soup. I made the soup in my skillet and the sandwiches on my George Forman grill. The soup is also good for a sore throat and the beginnings of a cold. Looking at the photo, can you see the smiling face?
Trinity Lutheran Church served chili after the Wednesday evening activities and before the Wednesday evening service. It was delicious on a soon to be fall day.
Day 17: Toast and Cereal it is. Day 18: We had a late lunch in town which doubled as our supper. Day 19: A friend of ours had us over for supper. Grilled burgers, fried fish nibbles as an appetizer with veggies and rice. Day 20: Dj won some New York Strips at yesterday's meat raffle. We had those with fried potatoes. Day 21: Head ache and lack of sleep (neighbors dogs barked outside all night long) lead to pizza and hot wings from Dominoes. The count down has begun! Three days left!
Day 13: This meal was delicious! Fried the hamburger first, then made the hotdish. It took a bit more time. However, I'm able to do this now that school has started. It would be easier to make it in separate pans and have it all done at once but you do what you gotta do. We added raw veggies and toast. Unfortunately the veggies are not from our garden. I can't grow a cucumber to save my life, our tomatoes were a bit under ripe and our carrots are still in the ground. Day 14: Chicken dumpling soup with a sandwich, raw veggies and an apple from the tree for dessert. Day 15: it was a late evening with errands to run. I confess we did a Subway run. Both my daughter and I got just turkey sandwiches. We had veggies, apples and orange juice at home. My husband had supper while at work.
We had a big lunch that had leftovers from work. Our daughter was not pleased with the "small" bread slices or the fact that it had tomatoes and swiss cheese in it. She remade the sandwiches with toast and cheese she does like into one big sandwich verses four little ones.. Veggies and Orange juice was her sides of choice.
